"Sonata" - Another 630 Scale

Date Completed:
Tuesday, September 18, 2018
A new mosaic design that is a bit more conventional than my previous creative exploits
The armrest is embedded into the edge so it doesn't add extra width to the body
Once again I staggered the heel - moving the neck forward with about 10mm's of the upperbout on one side

Although most players are going to find a 630 scale unusually small and unnecessary, I can see how there are some that would greatly benefit. This particular guitar couples a short string length with more narrow neck and string spacings at both nut and saddle. It's a sweet sounding. modern guitar. A lot of fun to play and I think that I will establish this particular build as an option for others.

Specs:

  • Cedar Soundboard
  • Wenge Back and Sides

  • Radiused Fingerboard
  • 630mm Scale Length
  • 49mm Nut Width / 41 mm string spacing
  • 55mm string spacing at saddle
