This guitar was commissioned by David Crosslin, a guitar major at Middle TN State University. There isn't so much demand for longer scale lengths these days, but David invested quite a bit of time in testing out his idea that the extra distance was necessary before moving forward with the project. The resulting 660 scale, fan braced guitar was a request I welcomed and it was a great joy to place my current experience within the context of traditional design. What happened with the sound was, for me and David, nothing short of magic. The guitar is great fun to play, projects well and provided an opportunity for me to execute a long awaited design feature: extending the purfling around the heal.
